  Rotary Youth Leadership Award

Every year Rotary Clubs throughout the world organise RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award)
programmes for many selected young people from all walks of life. The RYLA scheme aims to
recognise, encourage and educate young leaders in the community and workplace by offering
them an intensive leadership training experience.

By sponsoring RYLA, Rotary desires to demonstrate respect and concern for youth, and to
encourage, assist and train selected youth leaders and potential leaders in responsible and
effective leadership. It also recognises publicly the high qualities of the many young people who
are rendering service to their communities. This is a programme that will give you skills helpful in
your personal life and career.

The RYLA programmes continue to build on its outstanding success. Here’s what some of the
participants from the last few years have said:

Dave: "The course was utterly fantastic - thank you all for being so incredibly awesome"
Michelle: "Just wanted to say thanks so much to all of you for the incredible week. Wow!"
Jasmine: "Anyway, straight from the heart...I’m missing you people like crazy, believe it or not, but
your madness and craziness is what kept me sane throughout the whole journey, I loved every
minute!!!...not to mention our awesome organisers, we're pretty lucky huh."

RYLA it is an experience for young people between the ages of 18 and 24 inclusive,
who have demonstrated potential as leaders.
The RYLA programme will challenge participants mentally and physically with a wide variety of
subjects and activities planned over a 5 day period.
